15.06.2021 - 15.06.2021 Meet the Experts MS webinar: Fertility, pregnancy and MS
We welcome two experts in the field, Dr Doriana Landi and Professor Kerstin Hellwig, for a discussion about fertility and pregnancy considerations when managing people with MS. The expert panel will share their clinical experience and discuss how they manage fertility and pregnancy concerns in people with MS.
Pregnancy rates in women with MS increased from 2006 to 2014 and there is no evidence that MS reduces fertility directly;1 however, there are data to suggest that it may reduce ovarian reserve in women with MS.2 MS treatment considerations are also important, as contraception is mandatory during the use of some disease-modifying therapies,3 whilst some have shown no adverse pregnancy outcomes when used during all three trimesters.4,5 The two experts will also examine the effects that assisted-reproductive therapies may have on patients with MS and the potential relapse risk.3,6
This is the first Meet the Experts MS webinar of 2021 and we look forward to welcoming you to this online event for a lively and engaging discussion.
